The Story - Part IV

Now I'm not quite sure who was more impatient today... Steve or us? Well, either way he jumped the gun again and updated the Story a bit earlier than he was supposed to.

Hello everyone this is Steve,

I hope that you are all well and again want you to know that I really appreciate all of the encouragement, kind wishes and comments that you are leaving for me across the internet. Thanks so much for keeping the faith.

So far I have told you that the album is complete. It was recorded at Moles studio in Bath, U.K. and mastered at Bernie Grundman studios in Los Angeles, U.S.A.. Now I want to let you know about some of the other things that I have been working on and to let you know what is coming next.

During the past months, basically since the completion of the album, I have been looking for musicians to join me in the band. Most of the people who were in the studio with me are in other bands and for one reason or another could not commit to the long term obligation of being permanently in my new band.

Therefore I have been on a search for some very special individuals. These people need to be great musicians, they have to be creative in their own right and they must have the right personality to fit in with the dynamic of this band. The search is almost complete. There will be six of us in total and five are already in place

Most of these people, it turns out, were either already friends of mine or came highly recommended from other friends of mine. We have been rehearsing the album for many weeks now and we have even progressed to writing new songs together, as a band. There is a great respect between each of us for the talents and skills of the others and and the magic is really there.

In addition to recruiting the band and rehearsing with them there has been a lot of administrative work going on as well. First of all I needed good management and I have that now. Good management gets out and helps their artists find a publishing deal, a record label, a booking agent etc. etc. We are already negotiating with several major publishing company's and labels and I expect to have all of that resolved very soon. By very soon I mean within weeks, not months.

Once I have the publishing and label issues resolved I will be able to share my music with you. I am really excited about this – for me this album has been ready for so long and I can't wait for you to hear it and tell me what you think.

Now, in response to the second most frequently asked question* from my e-mail inbox and comments - I want to let you know that the band and the first album are called

Love Amongst Ruin

Updates should be coming more quickly now as there are lots of things that I will let you know about as they happen. Plus I want to introduce the other members of Love Amongst Ruin to you as well during the coming weeks.

Finally, there are almost 2,000 of you on my facebook friend page now. 2,000 people who cared enough about this project to get involved even before they heard a note. That means a lot to me and I know that your faith will be rewarded when you hear Love Amongst Ruin.

Love Steve.x
Keep The Faith

*In case you didn't know, your most frequently asked question is “When can we hear your new songs?” I hope that was answered today. Soon my friends. Soon.

Since the name of the band is now revealed, what do you think? Hey or nay?

I love the name. I'm finding it hard, of course, not to love anything Steve does right now. Nevertheless, it is a very evocative title: for me it brings up images of beauty, pain and passion. It feels like a rite of passage. It's just awesome.
